There are but two kinds of happinesson
earth which may be considered as desi-
table, or which suggest the possibility of
retention. The one is that which is ex-
perienced by a young man, when he re-
ceives the proof of the devoted atta:|i-
ment of a young, pure, and beautiful la-
dy ! Ah heaven is in its contemplation.
Adolph,'in speaking of such a state says,
"Then methought I was happy.” Then
what hopes, what fond anticipations pos-
ussa man's soul. How. sweet the hopes
for the future, how tame in the retros-
pection, the past. Everything seems
bright for in every phase of life to come
ahe is blended, thus casting o’er the nat-
ural gliding of a youthful anticipation, a
bright effulgence before unknown. Glo

that, even, is held by-a doubtful tenure.
She, the young heart's bright-idol, may
die--she cannot prove false—and then
comes the sadness made more sad by the
very existence of the past happiness,
and its very excess render the misery the
more intense. Then the only happiness

cics to which we allude, and the only
one which is sure, and lasting as eterni-
ty itself, comes the hope of —a reunion

fort will be made to give it additional strength
and interest in every department.
The editorial management of the TIMES will
continue to be hereafter, as it has been hereto-
fore, under the exclusive supervision and con-

rious departments by accomplished and expe-

Did space permit, we could give man him
such names, from all parts where the ills have
been used, but evidence even more convincing than
the certificates of these eminent public men is
shown in their effects upon trial.
These Pills, the result of long investigation and
study, are offered to the public as the best and
most complete which the present state of medical
scimirc can afford. They are ‘compounded not of
the drugs themselves, but of the medicinal virtues
only of cgetablc remedies, extracted by hemical
process in a state of purity, and combined together
in such a manner as to insure the best results. This
system of corn osition fof‘ medicines has been found
in the Cherry ectoral and Pills both, to produce a
more efficient remedy than had hitherto been ob-

should be taken under the counsel of an attending
