fell upon the track in such a inariuer as to

and noble little fellow, was in the habit ofjuinp-

had often been warned of the danger.

Gazette we found in the advertising colriinns
many advertisements, which. were continued
as it matter of course, expecting that if the
parties interested wished their discontinuance
they wou.ld intimate their desires to us. Thus

when we came to settle, many had the etl‘rorit—.
ery to insist: upon being i't-leased from any pay-
ment for the services we had rendered, because
they had not given us an express order for
their continuance. Thus we lost many dol-
lars and ruore patience, and we wish now to
profit by the experience gained at that time.
\Ve wish it. distinctly understood by those hav-
ing advertisements in the paper—tliat. every
square is worth (1 dollar to us——that we are not
in need of such matter to “ fill up,” its
the saying often is, but on the contrary we are
obliged to decline such -favors almost daily, in
justice to our subscribers. In sliort, we are
sadly in want of room and as soon as we can ef-
fect the arrangement shall enlarge our present
limits, but until then we do hope we shall not
have to advertise for any one on the “Dead
Ilcad” principle; we are poor and ca n’t afford
it, while we refuse cash advertisements daily
which might supply their places. Marriages
and deaths are published gratuitously, but obit’-
uary resolutions. notices, 6:0. are charged for by
