pills. They stimulate every organ in the body
to a healthy state. These Pills bring on a heal-
thy state. or in other words. their remedial pow-
ers are disclosed by a different operation from all
other pills. Peoplegenerallyare led to adopt
erroneous opinions, from perusing the numerous
circulars of Qnacks and Humbugs, which incul-
cate the idea that Pills must operate violeiItly,or
produce copious and frequent discharges which
is very detrimental and pernicious in its conse-
quences, and productive of far more mischief
than they are intended to remove. These. Pills
operate by a slow and gradual process ; mild, but
powerful enough to bring about their beneficial
results. without the pernicious and injurious ef-
fects which attend all pills generally, and which
are charaictei-ized by the drastic and powerful
operations of them. These pills are perfectly
safe, and may be used with confidence that no
injurious effects will result therefrom, the ingre-
dients being entirely vege.lal)le.

rilla Compound, is probably superior to Sarsa-
pairilla itself. .Prof'cssor Frost of Charleston,
()., speaks of it as follows in the Southern
Journal of Medicine and Pharinacy:—“Few
vegetable productions esliibit more power upon
the system generally. So powerfully is its
action exerted upon the capillary and secreting
vessels, in changing their morbid states or con-
ditions and disposing them to a new healthy
action, that. it is greatly to be’ preferred, &c.
&c.” He further adds, “that it is in chronic
diseases and chronic inflaiuniatioiis, and also in
tho ]0,,g train of consequences that follows
sypliilis, that its efficacy‘ is best exhibited.”
The superiority of the Grafcnberg Sarsap_a-
rilly Compound may thus be stated :
1st. It-is composed of a number ofthe most
efficacious vegetables in the whole range of the
Matcria. M edica in addition to Sarsaparilla.
2d. These are so highly concentratetl tlia-t
there are many more doses iiI the bottle than
in any of the very largest. bottles advertised.
3d. This concentration renders it to Sarsa-
parilla what Quinine is to Peruvian Bark. The
more diluted preparations are no bettei" than
ordinary root-beer; souring on the stomach
and spoiling in the bottles. To use a weak in-
fusion of Sarsaprilla when a sulphate of the
article may be had, is like taking bark instea'd
of Quinine, or like travelling in a scow against
a strong current instead ofa swift Steamer.
