I feel it a duty to state, for the benefit of the
public, the astonishing cure of myself, which is
as follows :—For the last twenty years I have
been troubled with Rheumatism; I .could not
walk without canes or crutches. The pain was
excruciating, so much so that I could not sleep
nights. The disease finally settled in my hip
joint; the thigh became elongated or pushed out
ofits socket, by the pain and inflam'ation; the
cords became contracted so as to throw my knee
forward, and drew my foot backward, so the
points of my toes barelytouch ed the ground when
I walked. My health was so much impaired,
I made up my mind that the disease was so
firmly seated, that nothing could benefit me; I
had tried the very best pl‘iysicians,and all of the
sure cures without relief. I was advised by a
friend to try

age, and have been alllicted with Rheumatism
for the last ten years. b In April last I caught a
very severe cold, which inc1'eased my rheumatic
pains, so that I was confined to the house. I
employed my family physician, who attended
me until the fii'st of Way, without releiving me
ntall. In fact I grew worse, and so much so. I

way for nearly two months, suffering every
't’hing’but deatl1—unable to sleep, raise-my arms,
or move, without suffering the most excrutiating
pain. A friend of mine called upon me, who

under anyconsideration, and advise all those

Dr. Bradlee-—Dear Sir: I consider the IIun-
garian Balsam an invaluable remedy for diseas-
es of the Lungs.
My daughter, aboutseventeen years of age,
was seized about a year ago with a violent af
fection of the Chest and Lungs, attended with
a short, harsh Cough, Pain in the side, weak-
ness -and ditiiculty of breathing, hectic fever,
chills, and other systems ofa s_pcc(l_i/ decline, or
quick Consunzplion.
She was very rapidly reduced in strength,
and other remedies proving of no avail. I was
induced to try Buchan's Hungarian Balsam,
which, I am happy to say, had the desired
effect, and in a few weeks raised her from
the state of debility and danger described, to
120'/_‘/‘ccl health. Nothing else, with which I
am acquainted, would, I think, have saved her

Dangerous Pleurisy Pains Removed.
UTICA, N. Y., F153. 4, 1846.—I cheerfully
give my name in favor of Dr. Buchan’s Hun-
garian Balsam of Life. Last April my wife
was attacked with a violent Cough, attended
with a severe and moss distressing pain in the
side, so bad as to deprive her of rest. VVhile,
in this situation, I called on Messrs. \Varner
65 Co. for some medicine, and they recom-
mended this Balsam. I purchased a bottle, and
by the time we had used one-half of it, my
friends, many of whom have used it with like
