_ I am not given to puffing the various nos-
triims of the day into existence, or raise my
voice in their favor, yet the serious conviction
that yours is one of intrinsic merit, and a real
benefit to the afflicted, induces me to offer my
humble testimony. Iain now fifty six years of
‘age, and have been afflicted with Rlieuniatism
for the last ten years. In April last I caught ii
very severe cold, which increased my rheumatic
p:-iins, so that I was confined to the _house. I
employed my family pliysician, who attended
me until the first ofMay, without relciving me
nt all. In fact I grew worse. and so iuucli so. I
was confined to my bed. I continued in this
way for nearly_ two months, sufl'ering every
thing but death—uiiable to sleep, raise my arms,
or move, without suffering the most excrutiating
pain. A friend of mine called upon me, who
