Railroad Company to extend their Road from
the Connecticut line to the Harlem Railroad,
was lost in the N. Y. issembly on the 5th inst,
the votes being, '77 for, and 15 against the bill.
A reconsideration was immediately moved.-
Two thirds (86) of the whole number (128) of
members, whether present or absent, are he-
cessary to the passage ofsuch bills. Tliirty-five
members were absent when the question was ta-
ken.
lt is thought, 11 ow ever the requisite number
ofvotes may be obtained in a fuller house, but
there is much oppositionitothe passage of the
bill until those provitlitig for the construction ofa
road from N. York to Albany are acted upon.
Boar’ Fouxn.-The body of Charles G. Greg-
ory, lost at the Islan ds in a blow on the 5th of
iMarch last, was found upon the salt meadow,
near the mouth oftheVillage Inlet. Its position
was such as to induce the impression, that it
had been thrown up by a high title. It was ac-
cidentally discovered by Mr. Peter Olmstead.
lt was of course in an advanced stage of decay.
