HE subscribers have on hand a‘ large sup-
ply of material for Tombstones and moon-
ments. and are desirous of serving the public in
their line on terms rriore favorable than they
have been able to do heretofore. and at a con-
siderable reduction from the prices detnanded
byjtinerant dealers roin other sections. As
no trifling expense attends the common mode
ofseeking out jobs. they now offer to supply
orders left at their yard, at prices at leas fifteen
or twenty per cent. less than they have been
able to afford the same quality of work in times
past. That this is not mere assertion. the
public are invited to call and ascertain for

The truth of this is plain to the most super-
ficial observer by a, comparison of the stones
introduced from abroad with those which have
been erected by the subscribers. It is a fact
that the prices paid by some members ofour
community to foreign dealers have ranged
considerably above those for which the nrider-
signed have been in the habit of furriisliiog the
same article. Let those wiio wish to pur-
chase, at leasttest the truth of these assertions
and give their patronage where economy sug-

IIEREAS the General Assembly of this
State. at the session thereof, holden at
Hartford. in May. A. D. 1843, passed the fol-
lowing act, to wit: -
An act in addition to an act entitled an act rela-
ting to Guardians and Minors.
Sec. 1. Be it -enacted by the Senate and House
of R-prcsentativcs in General Assembly conven-
ccl. That it shall be theduty ofall guardians of
minors to render their accounts against their
wards for adjustment. together with the particu
lore of the .estate of such words before thecourts
of Probgiteérespectively having cognizance there
of. at least otice every year during the continu-
ance oftheir guardianship: and in case any
guardian shall have neglected to render his ac-
count and statement as aforesaid. it shall be the
duty of said court to make order therefor.
Sec. 2.” Be it further enac'cd. That when-
ever it shall appear. on the adjustment of the
account ofany guardian as aforesaid, that there
is a balance of the money ofthe ward in the
hands ofsur-li guardian. it shall be the duty of
the Court ofPro'oate to order such guardian to
place’ the same at interest, in the name of the
ward, on good mortgage security of at least
double the value ofthe amount lent on such
mortgage. or by deposits in some Savings
Bank in this State, or to lay out the saute in the
nurture. education or advancement in marriage
ofsuch minor. as the Court of Probate shall di-
rect or approve, and to render his account thereof
at such times as such court shall prescribe.
Sec. 2. 'l‘hat all persons appointed by the
Cotirt of Probate toscll the lands of minors.
who have sold the saute, shall render to the
Court of Probate. once in each year. his or her
account against his or her ward. together with
the particulars ofthe fund or property in his or
her hands. pad if the person so authorized to
sell shall neglect nnnuallyio render such ac-
count. it shall be the d iity of said Court to make
an order directing him or her so to render his
or her account.
Sec. 4. All conservators appointed by th
Court of Probate or ('-ounty Court, shall render
annually to the Court where they were respect
iveiy appointetl.his or her account with his or
her ward. and ofthe particularsituation of the
word's estate. Approved. June 2. 1843.
It is therefore ordered bythe court of Probate
for the District of Norwalk. that all Guardians
and Coussrvators. appointed by said Court who
have not complied with the provisions and re-
quirements ofthe foregoing ‘act ,' within one year
or-xt before the date of this order. render to this
Court their accounts anti statements. as by said
set required. on or before the 20th day of De-
cember. A. D. 1843. and on their neglecting so
to do. that they be severally and respectively
