their line on terms more favorable than they
have been able to do heretofore, and at a con-
siderable reduction from the prices, demanded
bv itinerant dealers from other sections. As
ni) trifling expense attentls the common mode
ofseeking out jobs, they now offer to suPPly
orders left at their yard. at prices at least fifteen
or twenty per cent. less than they have been

past. _That this is not mere assertion. the

themselves. Much deception has been prac-
tice-l upon those tinacquainted with the qualities
of marble and the different grades of work-
mauship by the class of ilinerants alluded to.
The truth of this is plain to the most super-
ficial observer by a comparison of the stones
introduced from abroad with those which have
been erected by the subscribers. It is a fact
that the prices paid by some members ofour
community to foreign dealers have ranlled
considerably above those for which t.he.under-
signed have been in the habit of fnr.uishing the
