HlS'article was constructed in consequence
ofa suggestion from the American Institute
——tliat a simple, portable, and low priced Fur-
nace was wanted by Farmers, for boiling and
steaming food, preparing maple sugar, &.c., and
for many mechanical purposes.
It is so formed that a space from one to two
riches is left between the boiler and the casing
hat surrounds it, causing the heatin its passage
lo the pipe, toencircle all parts oftbe boiler even
to its upper edge.
The American Institute awarded a silver
medal at their late fair.
A good, cheap, and durable boiler has long
been sought for by the farmer. , -
It will be readily perceived that it has many
advantages over those set in brick. It takes
up but little mom. is light, aud may be placed
on the floor, and requires no foundation to sup-
port it, ' Besides being portable, it may be re-
moved from place to place, as occasion or con-
venience may require ; two men are suflicient
to remove it. It can be made to boil full of veg-
etables in 30 minutes, and ilie second filling in
20 minutes. Another very imporiantcousidera-
tion, and which will go far to recommend it is,
that it requires much less wood than one of the
same size and form set in brick. Although
wood may be plenty, it takes iinie and labor to
procure it,
. Since the first introduction a simple appara-
tus for steaming has been made, which may be
used with the boiler. It consists of a large box
placed on a strong bench—along side the fur-
nace, a part ofthe bottom oftlie box, correspond-
ing in size and form with the top ofthe boiler. is
filled with holes. the lid or cover is provided
with side pieces that shot over the sides of the
box when closed, and when open, serves as a
trough to slide the vegetables intoa mashing tub.
To use the steamer, it is merely necessary to
turn the box on to the caldron, which should be
about two thirds filled with water. The fur-
nace and boiler is well calculated for an ordi-
nary washing boiler, the balfbarrel size is fitted

of about 20years-the attacks occurring once in
about two weeks frequently lasting 24 hours
during which time the paroxysms have been so
severe.a= apparently soon to deprive her of life.
And after having tried almost all other reme-
dies in vain I have been induced as a last resort
to try Spohn’s Headache Remedy as sold by
you ;and to my great disappointment ssjoy of
Iierselfand all her friendsfound very material
relief from the first dose of the medicine, she
has followed up the directions with the article,
and in every case when an attack was threat-
ened has found immediate! relief, until she is
