culiar formation and hereditary transmission, I
tried every means to check this disease, and
strengthen a naturally weak constitution. I
spent; two years at Pisa, one in Rome. two in
Florence, and another in the south of France,
seeking, meantime. the advice of the best phy-
sicians. Two years since I returned to‘ this
country in about the same situation as when I
left. I had seen in the reading rooms of Eu
rope much said in favor of Dr. Taylor’s Balsam
of Liverwort, and as soon as I arrived in this
city, 1 used it, and in three months I was so
well I concluded I couldésafely pass the winter
here, and did so. I have used an occasional
bottle now and than during the time, but am
now in as good health as possible. My cough
has wholly ceascdpand my lungs has every
feeling of health. Dr. G. Smith, and Dr. Post,
of this city, were my physicians, and now say

Since our former article, we have been to the
trouble ofexamining into the merits of the rival
claimants for their original proprietorsliip ofiliis
medicine, and can scarcely repress the indigna-
tion we feel at the imposition practised upon us
by Mr. J. Burrilt. of No. 12 Gold street, who
introtlticetl to our clerk as the veritable Dr. Geo.
Taylor. a person by the name of \Vilson. Mr.
B. afterwards admitted that it was not Dr. Tay-
lor, and that the papers exhibited to us signed
Geo. Taylor. M. D. were not signed by him at
all, but were wriiteii by this Dr. VVilsori, by vir-
tue, as was alleged, ofa powerofattoriiey, giv-
en by Dr. Taylor. but which he had never seen
no more than he had the person professing to
act under such authority. We have conversed
with the geutlemanly proprietor oftlie Balsam
ol'Liverwort, 3'75 Bowery, who has been known
to us as the advertiser and vendor ofthis medi-
cine for seven years past,‘ and who is still at the
same place,—and he has given us the most
complete testimonials of his riglit. and that all
others who oller the article for sale, (except man-
ufactured by him) are practising imposition up-
on the public.
It will be seen by the article below, that we
are not the only conductors of the press who
have been imposed upon by Buriiit and his as-
sociates. VVE: have tlirccted all advertisements
from their concern to be discontinued from our
columns; and ifother editors are imposed on in

tensions of Mr. VViri. J. Burritt, of 12 Gold st.
—-W ho displayed to us a number of documents
purporting to have been sigiietl by the identical
George Taylor, whose name the medicine in
question.bears.givi'ng him antliority not only to
sell the mcdicirie—but authority to him alone;
and further to use and sign his name for all pur-
poses connected with the Balsam ofLiverwort.
We are now perfectly satisfied that the said
George Taylor never gave Burritt the use of
his signature. at any time. or under any circum-
stances. We are also satisfied, and the more
so after the perusal of Burritt's documentary
hunibug, that the only place to get the genuine
article of Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort, is at '
375 Bowery. We believe the original recipe is
tliere—and ilicre only. One word more, and
onrtask is done. There is no such person at
3 1-2 Chamber street as George Taylor, M. D.
as representedin I3urritt’s advertisements. \Vc
have made personal application at this place,
and satisfied oursclfofthe fact.

to take out these fraudulent zidvertisemenis from
the columns of the Planet, and it will be seen
thattliey have complied with the request: and

example, by ceasing at once to give currency to
the pretensions of a man capable of practising

injured by taking the stulf made there in imita-
tion of this medicine. Her husband analysed
it, and found it to be spurious, poisonotis. Be-
