Dr. Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort has found
hundreds of advocates, and has produced so
large a number of Testimonials in its favor. I
cannot withhold my small meed ofpraise. Be-
ing predisposed to consumption, both from pe-
culiar formation and hereditary transmission, I
tried every means to check this disease, and
strengthen a naturally weak constitution. I
.spent two years at Pisa, one in Rome. two in
Florence, and another in the soutliof France,
seeking, meantime. the advice of the best phy-
sicians. Two years since I returned to this
country in about the same situation as when I
left. I had seen in the reading rooms of Eu
rope much said in favor of Dr. Taylor's Balsam
of Liverwort, and as soon as I arrived in this
city, 1 used it, and in three months I was so
well I concluded I could safely pass the winter
here, and did so. I have used an occasional
bottle now and then during the time, but am
now iii.as good health as possible. My cough
has wholly ceased. and my lungs his every
feeling ofhealth. Dr. G. Smith, and Dr. Post,
of this city, were my physicians. and now say

introduced to our clerk as the veritable Dr. Geo.
Taylor. a person by the name of'W'ilson. Mr.
B. afterwards adiniited that it was not Dr. Tay-
lor, and that the papers exhibited to us signed
Geo. Taylor, M. D. were not signed by him at
all, but were wriiteii by this Dr. \Vilson, by vir-
tue. as was alleged, ofa powerofaiiorney, giv-
en by.Dr. Taylor, out which he had never seen
no more than he had the person professing to
act under such authority. \Ve have conversed
with the genilemanly proprietor oftlie Balsam
ofLiverwort, 375 Bowery, who has been known
to us as the advertiser and vender ofihis medi-
cine for seven _\cars past, and who is still at the
sauie place,+and he has given us the most
complete testimonials of his right. and that all
mhers who offer the article for sale, (except inan-
ufaciured by him) are practising imposition up-
on the public.
It will be seen by the article below, that we
are not the only conductors of the press who
have been imposed upon by Buriitt and his as-
sociates. \Ve have directed all advertisements
from their concern to be discontinued from our
columns; and ifoiher editors are imposed on in

last time, to allude to the claims of two con-
tending parties. selling the invaluable medicine
of 'l‘aylor's Balsam of Liverwort. \Ve have
been led into this eoniroversy—iliis trouble and
diliiculty-—by the impudeni and shallow pre-
tensions of Mr. Wm. J. Burrin, of 12 Gold st.
—who displayed to us a number of documents
purporting to have been signed by the identical
George Taylor, whose name the medicine in
question bears,giving him authority not only to
sell the medicine—but authority to him alone;
and further to use and sign his name for all pur-
posesconnccied with the Balsam of Liverwori.
We are now perfectly satisfied ll)a'. tlie_ said
George Taylor never gave Burriit the use of
his signature. at any time, or under any circum-
stances. \Ve are also satisfied, and ilie more
so after the perusal of Burritt's documentary
humbug. that the only place to get the genuine
article of 'l‘aylor’s Balsam of Liverwort, is at
375 Bowery. We believe the original recipe is
lhere—zind there only. One word more, and
ourtask is done. There is no such person at
