large a number of Testimonials in its favor, I
cannot witlibold my smal- meed of praise. Be-
ing predisposed to consumption, both from pe-
culiar formation and hereditary transmission, I
tried every means to check this disease, and
strengthen a natiirally weak constitution. I
spent two years at Pisa, one in Rome. two in
Florence, and another in the south of France,
seeking, meantime. the advice of the best phy-
sicians. Two years since Ireturned to this
country in about the same situation as when I
left. Iliad seen in the reading rooms of Eu
rope much said in favor of Dr. 'I‘a.ylor’s‘ Balsam
of Liverwort, and as soon as I arrived in this
city, I used it, and in three months I was so
well I concluded I could safely pass the winter
here, and did so. I have used an occasional
bottle now and than iliiriiig the time, but am
now in as good licaltli as possible. My cough
has wholly ceased. and my lungs his every
feeling of health. Dr. G. Smith, and Dr. Post,
of this city, were my pliysicizins, and now say

great popularity ofthis nicdiciue, which proba-
bly exceeds that of any other at the present time,
willjustify us in again recurring to this subject.
b'ucc our former article, we have been to the
trouble ofcxamining into the merits of the rival
claimants for their original proprietorsliip ofthis
medicine, and can scarcely repress the indigna-
iion we feel at the imposition practised upon us
by Mr. J. Burritt. of No. 12 Gold street, who
iutroduized toour clerk as the vcritableDr. Geo.
Taylor. a person by the name of VVilson. Mr.
B. afterwards admitted that it was not Dr. Tay-
lor, and that the papers exhibited to us signed
Geo. Taylor, M. D. were not signed by him at
all, but were written by this Dr. \Vilson, by vir-
tue..as was alleged, ofa power of attorney, giv-
en by Dr.'Taylor, but which he had never seen
no more than he had the person professing to
act. under such authority. V\7e have conversed
with the genilemanly proprietor of the Balsam
ol'Liver<i-ort, 375 Bowery. who has been known
to us as the advertiscr'.and,vender ofthis medi-
cine for seven years past, and who is still at the
same place.-and he has given us the inosl
complete testimonials of his right. and that all
others who offer the article for sale, (except man-
ufactured by him) are practising imposition up-
on the public. '
It will be seen by the article below. that we
are not the only conductors of the press who
have been imposed upon by Buriitt and his as-
sociates. VVe have directed all advertisements
from their concern to be discontinued from our
colutnns; and ifother editors are imposed on in

tending partics, selling the invaluable medicine
of Taylor's Balsam of Liverwort. \Ve have
been li;d into this controversy—-this trouble and
difficulty--by the impudent and shallow pre-
tensions of Mr. VVm. J. Burritt, of 12 Gold st.
—w ho displayed to nsia number of documents
purporting to have been signed by the identical
George Taylor, whose name the medicine in
qiiestion bears, giving him authority not only to
sell the mcdicine—-but authority to him alone;
and further to use and sign his name for all pur-
poses conuccted with the Balsam of Liverwort.
We are now perfectly satisfied that the said
George Taylor never gave Burritt the use of
his signature. at any time. or under any‘circum-
stances. \Vc are also satisfied, and the more
so after the perusal of Bu‘rritt's documentary
hunibug. that the only place to get the genuine
article of Teylor’s Balsam of Liverwort, is at
37-3 Bowery.‘ VVe believe the original recipe is
there—-and there only. One word more, and
ourtask is done. There is no such person at

all her salutory efforts. and where the digestive
organs are not filled with bile, acidity, or other
impurities, so that neither food nor medicinecan
