Dr. Taylor’s Balsatii of Liverwort has round
hundreds of advocates, and has produced so
large a number of Testimonials in its favor, I
. cannot withhold my small mced ofpraisc. Be-
ing predisposed to consumption, both frotn pe-
culiar formation and hereditary transmission, I
tried every means to check this disease, and
strengthen a naturally weak constitution. I
spent two years at Pisa, one in Rome. two in
Florence, and another in the south of France,
seeking, meantime. the advice of the best phy-
sicians. Two years since I returned to this
country in about the same situation as when I
left. I had seen in the reading rooms of Eu
rope mrich said in favor of Dr. Taylor’s Balsam
of Liverwort, and as soon as I arrived in this
city, I used it, and in three months I was so
well I concluded I could safely pass the winter
here, and did so. I have used an occasional
bottle now and than during the time, but am
now in as good health as possible. My cough
has wholly ceased, and my lungs his every
feeling of health. Dr. G. Smith, and Dr. Post,
of this city, were my physicians, and now say

Taylor, a person by the name of Wilson. — Mr.
B. afterwards adtiiitied that it was not Dr. Tay-
lor,.and that the papers exhibited to us signed
Geo. Taylor, M. D. were not signed by him at
all, but-wore written by this Dr. Wilson, by_vir-
rue, as was alleged, ofa power ofatlorney, giv-
en by Dr.‘Taylor, out which be had never seen
.no more than he had the person professing. to
act under such authority. VVe have conversed
with the gcntlcmanly proprietor of the Balsam
of Liverworl, 375 Bowery. who has been known
to us as the advertiser and vendor ofthis medi-
cine for seven years past, and who is still at the
same place,-—and he has given us the most
complete testimonials of his right. and that all
others who offer the article for sale, (except man-
ufactured by him) are practising imposition up-
on the public.
Itlwill be seen by the article below, that we
are not the only conductors of the press who
have been imposed upon by Biiriitl and his as-
sociates. VVe have directed all advertisements
from their concern to be discontinued from our
columns; and ifotlier editors are imposed on in
Tris BALSAM or-‘ LIVERWORT AcAiN.——VVe
are compelled, once more, and we hope for the
last time", to allude to the claims of two con-
tending parties, selling the invaluable medicine
of Taylor’s Balsam of Liverworl. \Ve have
been led -into this controversy—this trouble and
difficulty—by the impudenl and shallow pre-
tensions of Mr. “Ito. J. Burritt, of 12 Gold st.
—who displayed to us a number of documents
purporting to have been signed by the identical
George Taylor, whose name the medicine in
question bears, giving him authority not only to
sell the n1cdicine——but authority to him alone;
and further to use and sign his name for all pur-
poses connected with the Balsam ofLiverwort.
We are now perfectly satisfied that the said
George Taylor never gave Burritt the use of
his signature, at any time. or under any circum-
stances. \Ve are also satisfied, and the more
so after the perusal of Burriti's documentary
humbug, that the only place to get the genuine
article of Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort, is at
375 Bowery. We believe the original recipe is
there—and there only. One word more, and
ourtask is done. There is no such_ person at
3 1-2 Chamber street as George Taylor. M. D.
as representedin Burritt’s advertisements. \Ve.
have made personal application at this place,
and satisfied oursclfoftlie fact. Now to cut the
matter short, we have requested our publishers
to take out these fraudulent advertisements from
the columns of the Planet, and it will be seen

all editors of papers will do well to follow our
example, by ceasing at onceto give currency to
the pretensions of a man capable of practising

lion l—You cannot be loo cautious of whom
you purchase this medicine. There are many
imitations. \Vc especially notice that tnade at

paper (N. Y. Sun,) informs us that the wife of
a highly respectable physician of this city was
injured by taking the slulf made therein imita-
tion of this medicine. Her husband analysed
it, and found it to be spurious, poisonous. Be-

York, who has heretofore corresponded and
transacted business in the name of George Tav-

cially forbidden to make use of my name in any

hair on heads totally bald. So great are its

PILLS. .
HESE pills raise frotn the greatest‘weak-
ness. distress, and suffering, to a s:ate of
strength, health, and happiness. The name of
these pills originated from the circumstance of
the medicine. being found only in the cemetries
ofPersia. This vegetable production being of
a peculiar kind, led to experiments as to its
medical qualities and virtues." In half a centu-
ry it became an established medicine for_ the
diseases ofthat country. The extract oflhis
singular production was introduced into some
parts of Europe in the year 1783, and used by
many celebrated physicians in curing certain
diseases, where all other medicines had been
used in vain. Early in the year I792. the ex--
tract was combined with a certain vegetable
imported from Dora Baca, in the East Indies,
and formed into pills. The admirable effect of
this compound upon the human system, led phy-
sicians and families into its general use. Their
along established character. their universe-l.and
healing virtues, the detergent and cleansing
qualities of their specificial action upon the
glandular part oftlre system. are such as will
sustain their reputation and general use in the
American Republic. -
