spent two years at Pisa, one in Rome. two in
Florence, and another in the south of France,
seeking. meantime. the advice of the best phy

country in aboul. the same situation as when I
left. I had seen in the reading rooms of Eu

of Liverwort, and as soon as I arrived in this
city, 1 used it, and in three months ‘I was so
well I concluded I could safely pass the winter
here, and did so. I have used an occasional
bottle now and then during the time. but am
now in as good health as possible. My cough
has wholly ceased. and my lungs has every

act under such authority. VVe have conversed
with the genilemanly proprietor of the Balsam
of Liverwort, 375 Bowery, who has been known
to us as the advertiser and vender oftliis medi-
cine for seven years past, and who is still at the
same place.--and he has given us the most
complete testimonials of his right. and that all
others who offer the article for sale, (except man-
ufactured by him) are practising imposition up-
on the public.
It will be seen by the article below. that we
are not the only conductors of the press who
have been imposed upon by Burritt and his as-
sociates. \Ve have directed all advertisements
from their concern to be discontinued from our
columns; and if other editors are imposed on in

are compelled, once more, and we hope for the
last iirne, to allude to the claims of two con-
tending parties. selling the invaluable medicine
of Taylor's Balsam of Liverwort. \Ve have
been led into this controversy-—-iliis trouble and
dilIiculty—by the impudeni and shallow pre-
tensions of Mr. Wm. J. Burritt, of 12 Gold st.
——v.ho displayed to us a. number ofdocuiiients
purporting to have been signed by the identical
George Taylor.’ whose name Ilie medicine in
question bears. giving him authority not only to
sell the medicine—but authority to biui alone;
and further to use and sign his name for all pur-
poses coiinected with the Balsam of Liverwort.
\Ve are now perfectly satisfied that the said
George Taylor never gave Burritt the use of
his signature. at any time. oruuder any circum-
stances. \Ve are also satisfied, and the more
so after the perusal of Burritt‘s documentary
liiiiiibug, tliai the only place to get the genuine
article of Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwnrl, is at
375 Bowery. We believe the original recipe is
iliere—-and there only. One word more, and
ourlask is done. There is no such person at

as represented in Burriit’s advertisements. \Ve
have made °pcrsoual application at this p_lace,
and satisfied oursclfoftbe fact. Now to cut the
matter short. we have requested our publishers

that. they have complied with the request: and
all editors of papers will do well to follow our

the pretensions of a man capable of practising

lor, M. D. is no longer authorised. but is spe-
cially forbidden to make use of my name in any
manner, in connection with my Balsam of Liv-
erwort. ' '

the medicine being found only in the cemctries

qualities of their specificial action upon the
glandular part of the system. are such as will
sustain their reputation and general use in the
American Republic.
