Dr. Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort has found
hundreds of advocates, and has produced so
large a number of Testimonials in its favor, I
cannot withhold my small meed of praise. Be-
ing predisposed to consumption, both from pe
culiar formation and licreditarytransiiiission, I
tried every means to check this disease, and
strengthen a nziturally weak constitution. I
spent two years at Pisa, one in Rome. two in
Florence, and aiiotlier in the south of France,
seeking, meantime. tlicadvice of the best phy
slcians. Two years since I returned to this
country in about the same situation as when I
left. Iliad seen in the reading rooms of Eu
rope much said in Favor ut Dr. Taylor's Balsam
of Livarwort, and as soon as I arrived in this -
I used it, and in three months I was so
well I concluded I eouldgsafely pass the winter
here, and did so. I have used an occasional
bottle now and than during the time, but am
now in as good health as possible. My cough
has wholly ceased, and my lungs has every
feeling of health. Dr. G. Smith, and Dr. Post,
of this city, were my physicians, and now say

cold, used to cough violently, raising quantities
of thick putrid matter, and finally he could not
turn over in bed from weakness. He manifested
every symptom ofconfirmed consumption. For
six years he had been subject to the asthma.

Taylor, a person by the name of \Vilson. .Mr.
B. afterwards admitted tliatit was not Dr. Tay-
lor, and that the papers exhibited to ussigncd
Geo. Taylor, M. D. were not signed by him at
all, but were written by this Dr. I/Vilson, by vir-
tue, as was alleged, ofa power of attorney, giv-
en by Dr. Taylor, but which he had never seen
no iiiorethaii he had the person professing to
act under such authority; We have conversed
with the genilemanly proprietor ofthe Balsam
ofLiverwort, 375 Bowery, who has been known
to us as the advertiser and vender oftliis medi-
cine for seven years past, and who is still at the
same place,——and he has given us the most
complete testimonials of his right. an'd that all
others who offer the article for sale, (except inan-
ufactured by him) are practising imposition up-
on the public. ‘

are not the only conductors of the press who
have been imposed upon by Buriitt and his as-

last time, to allude to the claims of two cou-
tending parties, selling the invaluable medicine
of Taylor's Balsam of Liverwort. \Ve have
been led into this coutrovers_v——this trouble and
dil‘ficulty—-by the impudent and shallow pre-
tensions of Mi‘. Win. J. Burriti, of 12 Gold st.
—-who displayed to us a number of documents
purporting to have beep signed by the identical
George Taylor, whose name the iiiedicirie in
question bears,giving him authority not only to
sell the mcdicine——but authority to him alone;
and further to use and sign his name for all pur-
posescoiiuected with the Balsam of Liverwort.
\Ve are now perfectly satisfied that the said
George Taylor never gave Burritt the use of
his signature, at any time, or under any circum-
stances. \Ve are also satisfied, and the more
so after the perusal of Burritt's documentary
liumbug, that the only place to get the genuine
article of Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort, is at
375 Bowery. VVe believe the original recipe is
tbere—and there only. One word more, and
ourtask is done. There is no such person at

as represented in Buri'itt’s advertisements. \Ve
have made personal application at this place,
and satisfied oiirselfofihe fact. Now to cut the
matter short, we have requested our publishers
to take out these fraudulent advertisements from
the coliimus of the Planet, and it will be seen
that they have complied with the request: and
all editors of papers will do well to follow our
example, by ceasing at once to give currency to
the pretensions of a man capable of practising

unauthorised and spurious, and a suitable rel
ward will be paid for such proof as will lead to
the conviction of any person who signs my
name to any paper relating to my Balsam of
Livcrwort. And notice is hereby given, that
F. A. Tliayer, of375 Bowery,in the city ofNew
York, who has heretofore corresponded and
transacted business in the name of George Tay-
lor, M. D. is no longer authorised, but is spe-
cially forbidden to make use of my name in any
manner, in connection with my Balsam ofLiv-
erwort. I
The action oftliis medicine is to aid nature in
all her salutorycllbrls. and where the digestive
organs are not filled with bile, acidity, or other
impurities, so that neither food nor medicine can
