Since our form_ article, we have been to _thc
trouble of examining into the merits of the rival
claimants for their original proprietorsliip ofthis
medicine, and can scarcely repressihe indigna-
tion we feel at the imposition practised upon us
by Mr. J1 Burritt. of No. 12 Gold street, who
introduced to our clerk as the veritable Dr. Geo.’
Taylor, a person by the name of V‘./'ilson. Mr.
B. afterwards admitted that it was not Dr. Tay-
lor, and that the papers exhibited to us signed
Geo. Taylor, M. D. were not signed by him at
all, but were written by this Dr. VVilson, by vir-
tue. as was alleged, ofa power of attorney, giv-
en by Dr. Taylor, but which he had never seen
no more than he had the person professing to
act under such authority. We have conversed
with the genilenianly proprietor of the Balsam
ofLiverwort, 375 Bowery, who has been known
to us as the advertiser and vendor of this medi-
cine for seven years past, and who is still at the
same place,—-and he has given us the ‘most
complete testimonials of his right. and that all
others who offer the article for sale, (except man-
ufactured by him) are practising imposition up-
on the public.
It will be seen by the article below, that we
are not the only conductors of the press who
have been imposed upon by Buriitt and his as-
sociates. \Ve have directed all advertisements
from their concern to be discontinued from our
columns; and if other editors are imposed on in
this way it will not be our fault.-—N. Y. Signal.

are compelled, once more, and we hope for the
last time, to allude to the claims of two con-
tending parties, selling the invaluable medicine
of Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort. \Vc have
been led into this contr0vcrsy——this trouble anti
dilficulty---by the impudcnt and slmlloiv pre-
tensions of Mr. VVni. J. Burritt, of 12 Gold st.
——-who displayed to us a. number of documeuts_
purporting to have been signed by the identical
George Taylor, whose name the medicine in
question bears, giving him atitliority not only to
sell the mcdicine—but authority to him alone;
and further to use and sign his name for all pur-
poses connected with the Balsam of Livcrwort.
W'e are now perfectly satisfied that the said
George Taylor never gave Burrittthc use of
his signature, at any time, or under any circum-
stances. VVe are also satisfied, and the more
so after the perusal of Burritt's documentary
hurnbug, that the only place to get the genuine
article of Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort, is at
375 Bowery. W'e believe the original recipe is
tlierc——and there only. One word more, and
ourtask is done. There is no such person at

as represented in Burritt’e advtirtisemeuts. “To

it, and found it to be spurious, poisonous. Be-

HESE pills raise from the greatest weak-
ness, distress, and suffering, to a“ statue
strength, health, and happiness. The name of _
these pills originated from the circumstance o
ofPersia. This vegetable production ‘being ['0 :
a peculiar kind, led to experiments as t_o its
medical qualities and virtues. In half a centn-‘,
ry it became an established medicine for the
diseases ofthat country. The extract of this .'
singular production was intiodiiced into some.
parts ofEurope in the year 1783, and usedby’
many celebrated physicians in curing certain
tliseases, where all other medicines had been
used in vain. Early in the year 1792, the ‘ex-
tract was combined with a certain vegetable
imported from Dora Baca, in the East Indies,-
and formed itito pills. The admirable effect of
this compound upon the human system, led,phy-
siciaiis and families into its general use. Their
long established character, their universal and
healing virtues, the detergent and cleansing
qualities of their specificial action upon. the
glandular part ofthe system, are such as will
sustain their reputation and general use in the
American Republic. '
