Since our former article, we have been to the
trouble of examinling into the merits of the rival
claimants for their original proprietorsliip of this

'tion we feel at the imposition practised upon us

introduced to our clerk as the veritable Dr. Geo.
Taylor, a person by the name of \Vilson. Mr.
B. afterwards admitted that it wasoiot Dr. Tay-
lor, and that the papers exhibited to us signed
Geo. Taylor, M. D. were not signed by him at
"all, but were written by this Dr. Wilson. by vir-
we, as was alleged, ofa powerofattorucy, giv-
en by Dr. Taylor, out which he had never seen
no more than he had the person professing to
act under such authority. \Ve have conversed
with the genilemanly proprietor of the Balsam
ol'Liverwori, 375 Bowery, who has been known
to us as the advertiser and vender oftliis medi-
cine for seven years past, and who is still at the
same placc,—aud he has given us the most
complete testimonials of his right. and that all
others who olli-.r the article for sale, (except inan-
ufactured byliim) are practising iuiposition up-
on the public.
It will be seen by the article below, that we
are not the only conductors of the press who
have been imposed upon by Buriitt and his as-
sociates. \Vt "ave directed all advertisements
from their concern to be discontinued from our
columns; and if other editors are imposed on in

tending parties, selling the invaluable medicine

tensions of Mr. VVm. J. Burritt, of 12 Gold st.
—who displayed to us a. number of documents
purporting to have been signed by the identical
George Taylor, whose name the medicine in
question bears. giving him authority not only to
sell the mcdicine——but authority to him alone;
and further to use and sign his name for all pur-
poses counccted with the Balsam of Liverwort.
We are now perfectly satisfied tlia'. the said
George Taylor never gave Burritt the use of
‘his signature. at any time. or under any circum-
stances. \Ve are also satisfied, and the more
so after the perusal of Burritt's documentary
liumbug. that the only place to get the genuine
article of Tcylor’s Balsam of Liverwort, is at
375 Bowery. VVe believe the original recipe is
tbere—aiid there only. One word more, and
ourlask is done. There is no such person at

have made personal application at this place,
and satisfied ourselfoftlie fact. Now to cut the
matter short. .we have requested our publishers
to take otit these fraudulent advertisenients from

thatthey have complied with the request: and
all editors of papers will do well to follow our
example, by ceasing at once to give currency to
the pretensions of a man capable of practising
