Dr. Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort has found
hundreds of advocates, and has produced so
large a number of Testimonials in its favor, I
cannot withhold my small meed of praise. Be-
ing predisposed to coiisuinption, both from pc-
culiar formation urid hereditary trausniission, I
tried every means to check this disease, and
strengthen a naturally weak constitution. I
spent two years at Pisa, one in Rome, two in
Florence, and another in the south of France,
seeking, meantime. the advice of the best pliy-
sicians. Two years since I returned to this
country in about the same situation as wheti I
left. Iliad seen in the reading rooms of Eu
rope much said in favor of Dr. Taylor’s Balsam
of Liverwort, and as soon as I arrived in this
city, I used it, and in three months I was so
well I concluded I could safely pass the winter
here, and did so. I have used an occasional
bottle now and then during the time, but am
now in as good liealth as possible. My cough
has. wholly ceased, and my_ lungs has every
feeling of health. Dr. G. Smith, and Dr. Post,
of this city, were my physicians, and now say

Consumption and Liver Complaint.-—Suffei'ing
as I have for three years with these diseases, I
feel from my heart for all persons equally un-
fortunate, and therefore I beg of' them, if they
love life and health; if they love their families
and friends, not to lay and die under the hands
of mercury doctors or their usclcsstrasli, but
try Dr. Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort. This
medicine cured me when I was so ill I could not
turn over in my bed without assistance, and the
mineral doctors said I could not livea week, yet
this vegetable medicine cured me in six weeks.

of matter, night sweats, and was wasted to the

Raising of Bloo(l.——This disease is easily

sick and use this medicine. It will restore dis-
eased lungs and liverin a very short time.
Consumption cureal.—l\.'Iy son, having a violent
cold, used to cough violeiitly, raising quantities
of thick putrid rnatter, and finally he could not
turn over in bed from weakness. He manifested
every symptom ofconfirmed consumption. For
six years he had been subject to the asthma.
His physicians, Drs. Vcrmeule and Anderson,
said he was incurable, and must soon ‘die. Yet
I was determined to try Dr. Taylor’s Balsam of

great popularity of this medicine, which proba-
bly exceeds that of any other at the presenttime,
willjustify us in again recurring to this subject.
Since our former article, we have been to _tbe
trouble of examining into the merits of the rival
claimants for their original proprietorship of this
medicine, and can scarcely repressthe indigna-
tion we feel at the imposition practised upon us
by Mr. J. Burritt, of No. 12 Gold street, who
introduced to our clerk as the veritable Dr. Geo.
Taylor. a person by the name of WIlS0l1- MT-
B. afterwards admitted that it was not Dr. _Tay-
lor, and that the papers exhibited to‘ us signed
Geo. Taylor, M. D. were not signed by hinrat
all, but were written by this Dr. \V1lson, by vir-
me, as was alleged, ofa power of attorney, giv-
en by Dr. Taylor, but which he had never seen
no more than he had the person professing to
act under such authority. \Ve have conversed
with the genilemanly proprietor of the Balsam
ofLiverwort, 37-3 Bowery, whohas been known
to us as the advertiser and vender ofthis medi-
cine for seven years past, and who is still at the
same placc,—-and he has given us the most
complete testimonials of his right. and that all
others who offer the article for sale, (except man-
ufactured by him) are practising imposition up-
on the public.
It will be seen by the article below, that we
are not the only conductors of the press who
have been impdsed upon by Burritt and his as-
sociates. We have directed all advertisements
from their concern to be discontinued from our
columns; and if ollier editors are imposeclon in
this way it will not be our fault.—N. Y. Signal.

are compelled, once more, and we hope for the
last time, to allude to the claims of two cou-
teudiug parties, selling the invaluable medicine
of Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort. \Ve have
been led itito this controvers_y——this trotible and
dil‘ficulty—-by the impudent and shallow pre-
tensions of Mr. VVm. J. Burritt, of 12 Gold st.
—who displayed to us a number of documeiiis
purporting to have been signed by the identical
George Taylor, whose name the medicine in
qu"estion bears, giving him authority not only to
sell the medicine-—but authority to him alone;
and further to use and sign his name for all pur-
poses conngcted with the Balsam of Liverwort.
\Ve are now perfectly satisfied that the said
George Taylor never gave Burritt the use of
his signature, at any time, or under any circum-
stances. \Ve are also satisfied, and the more
so after the perusal of Burritt‘s documentary
liumbug, that the only place to get the genuine
article of Taylor’s Balsam of Liverwort, is at
375 Bowery. \Vc believe the original recipe is
there—and there only. One Word more, and
ourtask is done. There is no such person at
3 1-2 Chamber street as George Taylor, M. D.
as represented in Burritt’s advertisements. \Ve
have made personal application at this place,
and satisfied ourselfoftlie fact. Now to cuttlie
matter short, we have requested our publishers
to take out these fraudulent advertisements from
the columns of the Planet, and it will be seen
that they have complied with the request: and
all editors of papers will do well to follow our
example, by ceasing at once to give currency to
the pretensions of a man capable of practising
such high handed deceptioii.—N. Y. Planet.

tioul-—You cannot be too cautious of whom
you purchase this medicine. There are many
imitations. \Ve especially notice that made at
31-2 Chamber street. The proprietor of this
paper (N. Y. Sun,) informs us that the wife of
a highly respectable physician of this city was
injured by taking the stuff made there in imita-
tion of this medicine. Her husband analysed
it, and found it to be spurious, poisonous. Be-
ware then and buy none thatdoes not come from
375 Bowery. This is vegetable.

preparation of this medicine by the person who
has heretofore conducted the business at 375
Bowery, and other suflicient reasons, the origin-

ofthe public has taken out a Copy Right ofthe
Label and \Vrapper, two certificates of which
must accompany each bottle, in the words fol-
lowing’. “Entered according to the act of Coti-
gress in the year 18-10, by George Taylor, in
the Clerk’s oflice of the District Court of the
United States for the Southern District of the
State of New York.” All preparations of the
Balsam of Liverwort under my name, not ac-
companied with certificates of copy right, are
unauthorised and spurious, and :1 suitable rc-
ward will be paid for such proof as will lead to
the conviction of any person who signs my
name to any paper relating to my Balsam of
Liverwort. And notice is hereby given, that
F. A. Thziyer, of375 Bowery,in the city of New
York, who has heretofore corresponded and
transacted business in the name of George Tay-
lor, M. D. is no longer authorised, but is spe-
cially forbidden to make use of my name in any
manner, in connection with my Balsam of Liv-
erwort.
The action of this medicineisto aid nature in
all her saliitoryeflbrts. and where the digestive
organs are not filled with bile, acidity, or other
impurities, so that neither food nor mediciuecan
be assimilated or taken intothe system, the Bal-
sam is so congenial to the laws oflife and health
that the sick are cured, and the well made bet-
ter by it.

HESE pills raise from the greatest'weak-
uess, distress, and sufI‘ering,‘l0 a state of
strength, liealih, and liappiness. The name of
these pills originated from the circumstance of
the medicine being found only in the cemctries
ofPersia. This vegetable production being of
a peculiar kind, led to experiments as to its
medical qualities and virtues. In halfa centu-
ry it became an established medicine for the‘
diseases ofthat country. The extract of this
singular production was introduced into some‘
parts of Europe in the year 1733, and used by
many celebrated physicians in curing certain
diseases, where all other medicines had been’
used in vain. Early in the year 1792, the ex-
tract was combined with a certain vegetable
imported from Dora Baca, in the East Indies,
and formed. into pills. The admirable effect of‘
this compound upon the human system, led phy-
sicians and families into its general use. Their’
long established’ character. their universal and
healing virtues, the detergent and cleansing
qualities of their specificial action upon the
glandular part ofthe system, arg such as will
sustain their reputation and general use in the‘
American Republic. ’
