ing predisposed to consumption, both from pc-
culiar formation and hereditary transmission, 1
tried every means to check this disease, and
strengthen a naturally weak constitution. I
spent two years at Pisa, one in Rome. two in
Florence, and another in the south of France,
seeking, meantime. the advice of the best phy
siciiins. Two years since I returned to this
country in about the same situation as when I
left. I had seen in the reading rooms of Eu
rope mtich said in favor of Dr. ’l‘aylur’s Balsann
of Liverwort, and as soon as I :11-rived in this
city, I used it, and in three months I was so
well I concluded I could safely pass the winter
here, and did so. I have used an occasional
