2000. 3362 were polled ! In the latter coun-
ty, (Rutherford,) which had at ‘all the elec-
tions "given a large Whig majority, the VVhig
vote was about the same as last year, while
‘the Loco-Foco vote more than doubled ! In
this county the judges have given the certifi-
cates of election to the Loco-Foco candidates
, for the Legislature, b'utthe Whigs insist that
their men had amajority. The judges re-
fuse to produce the poll books, and the elec-
tion will probably be contested. In other
parts of the state the same system of fraud is

was railing out against the Whigs, and call-
