ofsuch Representatives, shall be called upon,
by the presiding oflicer in each of such meet-
ings, to bring in their ballots for a Senator in
the General Assembly of this State next ensu-
ing said election, who at the‘ time of holding
such meeting; shall belong to, and reside in,
the district in which he shall be balloted for as
aforesaid. And each elector present at such
uieeting, and qualified as aforesaid, may there-
upon bring in his ballot ofsuffrage for Such
person as he shall choose to be a Senator for
the District in the town where such meeting
hold, is situated with his name fairly ivritteii
on a piece of paper; And the votes so given
in shall be received, counted, returned; can-'
vasscd and declared, in the manner now pro-
vided by law for the choice of the Senators;
Sec. 3. The presiding officers in the meet‘-
ings of the electors, in the respective towns in
this State, shall make out the certificate ofthe
votes for Senators in the General Assembly;
