All‘lIn the head, pain and yellowriess of
eyes, yellowness of the skin, a flabby and
soft state ofthe skin and muscles, lassittide, aver
sion to all efforts ofbody and mind except that
of magnifying the ills oflife—often an uiiiiatural
craving for food which, when taken, produces op-
pression, and gaseous eructation--irritability,
weakness, emiiciation, and a hypocondriacis, are
the coiicomitants oftlie familiar disease indiges-
lion.
Among the many remedies proposed for this
distressing complaint none rm: litida more exten-
sive use,or been found to give reliefin more cases,
than J.mi:s’s ANTI DYS1’1-ZPTIC 1’iLi.s. The au-
thor ofthis remedy practically anticipated the
views of Brouisais, in referring dyspesia to gas-
troenteritic irritation. He considered the seat of
the disease_the mucus membrane, or, in the lan-
guage of modern anatomy, the digestive tissue,
The remedy is in consonance with this view, and
after long experience, and repeated efforts at im-
provement, is still offered for general use. Ex-
perience, usually, perhaps always, the best guide,
has induced thousands to return to the use ofthe
pills, who have tried and abandoned other reme-
dies. The pills can be taken without disgust, or
even inconvenience. The character of dyspep,
sia is essentially chronic; it admits of‘ gradual,
not an instantaneous cure Perhaps the cure
may be facilitated by mechanical means—it cer-
tainly is by temperiince, exercise,cliango of cli-
mate, and by causes that effect the mind; but in
all cases it will be hastened, and chances of re-
lapse diminished, by the anti Dyspepsia Pills.
