principal feature will be, Miscellaneous Liter-
ature, extracted from the most eminent works
ofthe present day ; Fine Arts, and all subjects
relating to Wit, Morals, and true Refinement.
In order to hand down the Gatherer as it
Chronicle to posterity, Olll' original articles
will be written purposely for its_ pages; and as
variety is naturally productive of pleasure, it
is the intention ol'theProprietors to intersperse
them with original Poetry, Bon Mots, and in-
offensive pleasantry. In short, as we shall be
solicitous to obtain a favorable reception from
our readers, we pledge ourselves to spare no
