_ The French papers of Sunday arrived late last
night : they contain deplorable accounts ofthe con-
tintiance ofthe plague in Barcelona. 'l'hc_v state
- that this dreadful malady carries off between 3 and
4-00 persons daily, the physicians had retired from
the immediate scene of its ravages.
The greatest embarrassment is experienced
there in consequence of the accumulation nfdead
bodies, with which the streets are filled. Persons
cannot be prevailed on for any price to un¢|e.-take
the dangerous business ,ol"removing them.

such facility, the whimsical caorice of man, to
