The driver of the southern mail states that a-
bout one o’clock Sunday morning, an attempt was
made to stop the mail, within a mile of the place
where the robbery was lately committed. ’ The
assailant issued from the woods, and was fired at

In Plymouth, (Mass.) Prince, a negro man, a-

volunteers who with Lt. Col. Barton, in 1777,
