Europe, the price of flour has taken a very sud-
den rise. On Thursday of last week, tlfe whole-

F'orrester, of‘M’Kl:an coufity. (l-’enn.) was shot
accidentally, by his son. The son had left home
for the purpose of hunting wolves ; after he had
been gone sortie time, the fatlieruent out for the
same purpose. Asis common among hunters,
one of them set up a bowling. after the manner ol
a wolf, and was answered by the other. They
continxued liowling in this ma_iim.~r until they ap-
proached each other within a-very short distance.
The father had hid himself behind Ll log, placing
brusli upon his back todisguise himself, so that
when the wolf. as he stipposed. came near enough

It is stated that it is the intention of the Sect'eta~
ry of VVztr to institute prosecutions in all cases
where attempts have been made to defraud the
government under the pension law. A pension-
er in illziim, lately prosecuted for perjury, was-.
found guilty, and sentenced to pay a line of $100,
and be confined in prison for 60 days.
