Spaniel; Trcaty.—We liave indulged in fcwob-
servations on this subject, says the N. Y. Evening
Post, because we were sensible that we were pos-
sessed of too imperfect information to render
them any better than crude and idle speculations,
VVe have now, at length, become possessed of a
history of facts of the most interesting nature,
which affords a key to whatever has appeared
mysterious heretofore; which, however, we are
not yet permitted to disclose at full length, but
which enables us to pronounce with strong confi-
(lencc, that our disputes with Spain uill termi-
nate speedily, amicably, and to the entire satisfac-
tion ofthis country; and which, at the same time,
exempts the king of Spain from all censure. In
due time the whole may be laid before the public,
and will convince the people that the course
which the executive has pursued, has been emi-
nently such an one as prudence, wisdom, and jus-
tice dictated. —

Revolutionary Pensions.-—By a letter from the l

cants for Pensions, under the act of March, 1818,,

have not been acted on ; I 1,881 have been either

Our troops at St. Mary’s, it is said. have re-
ceived orders to proceed forthwith to Fort Scott.
This movement, it is presumed, is intended to be
in readiness to occupy Pensacola, so soon as Con-

for goods lost from the ship America: and that
she succeeded in getting on board 96 bales ; and

speech. '17:: Volatile .dromatz'c Snuf will, by ex.
perience, be found not liable to these objections-—
its flavor is fragrant and delightful-—tlie effect
pleasing and salutary—it opens and purges the
head-—sensibly stimulates the spirits, and re-
moves that drowsiness which on some occasions
will prevail in spite of our utmost efforts to baffle
it. By repeated experiments, it is known to be of
essential service to those who are troubled with
long,,dull, nervous head-aches, and will be found
far superior for this purpose to the Cephalic snuff.
In cases of catarrh or what is commonly called a
cold in the head, a pinch or two taken at night
on going to bed will, by moistening the mucus-'
effectually remove all obstructions before morn-
ing. All those troubled with the hypochondria
or vapors, will find in this chemical preparation a
complete antidote. All sedentary and studious
persons of either sex will find by its occasional
use, a cheap and cheering l't:llcf from that lassi-
tude which invariably accompanies a long sitting
or much reading. This snuff is well stopt in a
handsome square bottle made expressly for the
purpose, and which will be found to unite all the
advantages of a snuff Box.
