ed by the Hon. General Assembly is well
known, and hardly needs any comment ; howev-
er, for the more general information of such as
are not perfectly acquainted with the Cll'ClIlll5t~Zll1-
ces, the Managers have thought proper to ob-
serve that the Episcopal Society in 1"-airfteltl was
at the commencement of the revolutionary war:
blessed with a handsome Church, completely lin-
ished, and painted inside and out, with an elcgttnt
set 01 plate for the communion service, and
handsome library ; also, a large and elegant l'ar-
sonage--‘House, with out-houses, fences, E-tc,
which were all (lest by fine, or carried away.
at the time the. lot _. _ Fairfielcl was htirnt. in
the year 1779 by the sitish troops under ’l‘r_von,
which so impoverished the society-that they have
never been able to reinstate tlieuiselves ; and, as
all other Ecclesiastical Societies. and inditidnals‘,
who suffered losses by the enemy at that time,
have long since, in some measure, been remu-
nerated by the Hon. Legislature; and at their

tion; originating principally from taking coltl,
commencing with cough,then_ difficulty of breath-
ing, and pain in the side. At length the lungs
become affected, consumption ensues, and death
closes the scene. Alas I too often does preju-
dice, by listening to some, and adopting the opin-
ions of others, prevail, thereby preventing a trial
of such medecine as might afford relief, under
the idea that no relief can be obtained. Scarce-
ly a case occurs, but may be relieved by the time-
ly application of Doct. .xfnderson’s Cough Dro/is,
which have proved to be a perfect curt; for Coughs

As a proof of which the following interesting
certificates are submitted, through motives the
most humane, to public perusal.
A gentleman of Charlestown was severely af-
flicted with an Asthma six years, and for the last
six months his death was daily expected, when to
the great surprizc ofevery one on taking a bottle
of these Drops, his health was perfectly restored.
A gentleman by the name of Enoch VVilley,
of Litchfield, 60 years of age, was perfectly cu-
red of an Asthma with 2 bottles.
A young lady of Herkimer was severely afflict-
ed for three years with a violent cough, difficulty
of breathing, spitting of blood, pain in the side,
deprived of sleep, and universal debility ; in this‘
distressing state, after having tried all other med-
ecine in vain, and considered as past relief, by
taking only three bottles of Doctor Anderson’s
Cough Drops, her cough and the whole of her
symptoms left her, sleep was restored, and her
health perfectly established.
I, John Bennett, of the town of I-larpersfield,
Delaware county, do certify that I was distressed
with a severe cough and pain in the breast and
raising of blood, and could not sleep when I lay
down, and by taking of Dr. Anderson's Cough
Drops I found a speedy relief, and to my satis
faction they are of the greatest use of any mede-
cine yet known for those complaints.
