An Aci in addition to and alteration of an act en‘
titled, "‘ An Act constituting and regulating
Courts.
§l:BE it enacted by the Senate and House of
Re/zrexentativcs in General flsseitzbly con-

vened, That in all trials before the Superior Court,
where the punishment, in case of conviction is
death, the said Superior Court shallconsist of at
least two Judges, and that the Judge who may be
assigned to the Circuit where such trial may be
held, shall take to his assistance, one or more of
the Judges of the said Superior Court.
§ 2. ./1nd be it fizrtbe;-erzacted, That there shall
he held in each and every year a Supreme Court,
of errors in each County in this State, at the
times and places following, viz, In the county of
Middlesex, on the second Tuesday of October,
alternatelyat Middletown and Haddam, begin--
ning at Middletown. In the county of N. Lon-
don, on the third Tuesday, of October, alternate-
ly at New-London and Norwich, beginning at N.
London. In the county of VVindham on the
fourth Tuesday of October and in the county of
Tolland on the_ Tuesday. following the fourth
Tuesday of October. In the county of Hartford
on the second Tuesday of June. In the county
of Litchfield on the third -Tuesday of June. In
thecounty of Fairfield on the fourth Tuesday of
June, alternately at Fairtield and Danbury, be-
gining at Fairfield. In the county of New-Ha-
ven on the Tuesday following the fourth Tues-
day of June, and the first Session of the Supreme
Court of Errors, in the different counties under
this act as aforesaid, shall commence and be held
at Middletown, in the county of Middlesex on
the second Tuesday of October next.
§ 3. ./Ind be it _fu'1‘t/1£'1"¢’7Za€lt’d, That all causes
that shall be pending and undetermined before
the Supreme Court of Errors at the ending of
their session, to be held in June A. D. l8l9, shall
be removed into the Supreme Court of Errors
established by this act, and be tried in the county
in which said cause was originally tried in the
Superior Court, and that all causes which shall
hereafter come before the Supreme Court of er-
rors, shall be tried in the county, where such
cause was tried by the Superior Court.
' §4. And be it further enacted, That the clerks
of the Superior Courts, in the several counties
shall be clerks of the supreme court of Errors,
in their respective counties; and the Secretary
of state is hereby ituthorizcd and empowered to
give certified copies of the records of the Su-
preme Court of Errors remaining in his ofiice.
§5. ./fnrt be it fur:/zer enacted, That so much
of the second paragraph of the act entitled, * An
act constituting and regulating courts’ as pro-
vides, that the sessions of the Supreme court of
Errors, shall be held at the times and places now
by law provided, and so ‘much of the act constitu-
ting the Supreme Court of Errors, as directs,
that the Secretary of this state for the time be-
ing, shall ex-ofiicio._be the clerk of said Court,
and so much of the sixth section of the law, en-
titled ‘ an Act in further addition to and altera-
tion of an act for constituting and regulating
courts, and appointing the times and places for ‘
holding the same’ as provides that the Supreme
court of Errors, shall be holden alternately at
Hartford and New-Haven,’ be, and the same are
hereby repealed. Provided, that nothing in this
act contained, shall be construed to alfect or pre-
vent the session of the Supreme courtof Errors,
to be holden at New-Haven in June 1819, as is by
law now provided.

BE it enacted by the Senate and House of Refa-
rcsentati-ucs in General ./Isscmbly convened, T but
the draw in the Bridge across Connecticut River
near the City of Hartford, for the passage of ves-
sels up and down said river. shall not be raised
for the passage of vessels, or for other purposes,
between the hours of five and eight in the morn-
ing, on any day after the rising of this Assembly.
