although I have found no reason for chaiiging my
well known opinion of the pernicious ellccts of
the inordinate use of tobacco, in any form, Inev-
crthelcss cannot perceive the samt: objection to
‘yours. The articles are cei‘tainl_v innocent in
their qualities. Those liable to nervous and oth-
er liead-aches well know that fits of these (lis-
tressing affections, most commonly subside oh a
spontaneous sneezing towards night, and if this
reliefcan be expedited by a sternutatory, I should
give the preference to your soul? over that of
powdered tobacco, or even the iinportcd Ceji/zalz'c
Smwj, the ingredients of which are unknown to
us. VVith this view I have used your composi-
